Defender for Office 365 Email High Volume Sender Exception

This guide will show an administrator how to create a long-term exception for users that have had their email sending privileges revoked due to exceeding the daily limit for sending external emails.

Allowing High Volume Senders

  1. Navigate to the Anti-Spam Policies – Microsoft Defender portal, locate and select the applied Outbound Anti-Spam policy. A pop-out will be displayed where you will see all the configuration items applied to the policy, select Edit users, groups, and domains.
  2. We will want to specify the user that needs to be excluded from the daily recipient limit. Select the Exclude these users, groups, and domains box, this will allow you to provide the desired accounts. Under Users supply the sanctioned user account that will be exempt from policy, make sure to select the entry that will be generated under the field when the account is supplied. Once the necessary accounts have been added, select Save to finalize the allowance.
