      Browser Bookmark Removal

      This guide will show an administrator how to remove desired browser bookmarks from being preconfigured on Corporate Intune joined devices through Microsoft Edge or Chrome.

      Before we proceed with adding a bookmark be sure to not make any alterations to the toplevel_name section or any existing bookmarks.

      Failure to do so will prevent the deployment of any of the listed bookmarks for the configuration profile.

      Device Company Bookmark Removal

      1. Navigate to the Configuration Profiles – Intune portal, locate and select the Security Essentials Browser Management configuration profile or an equivalent Browser Management configuration profile.
      2. Scroll down to Configuration Settings and select Edit.
      3. When removing a desired bookmark from either one of the desired browsers, begin by selecting the dropdown beside either the Google or Microsoft Edge blade. Under the Google blade we will be looking for the configuration setting Managed Bookmarks (Device), for Microsoft Edge we will be looking for Configure Favorites (Device). Selecting the text field next to the setting will allow you to remove the desired bookmark by selecting the desired {“name”/”url”} or {“url”/”name”} entry and deleting the entry from the field. Make sure that you also remove the comma (,) located at the end of the previous entry to prevent syntax errors. Select Review + Save to proceed to the review section.
      4. From the Review section, you will be able to select the Settings dropdown to verify that the necessary browser bookmark(s) have been removed successfully. Select Save to finalize the bookmark removals. Rule changes propagate in less than 24 hours.
