      Browser Extension Removal

      This guide will show an administrator how to remove desired browser extensions from being preinstalled to Corporate Intune joined devices through Microsoft Edge or Chrome.

       Before we proceed with adding any extensions be sure to not make any alterations to any existing extensions.

      Any alterations to the Security Essentials configured extension IDs or Update URLs could prevent the deployment of all the extensions for the configuration profile.       

      Browser Extension Removal

      1. Navigate to the Configuration Profiles - Intune portal, locate and select the Security Essentials Browser Security configuration profile or an equivalent Browser Security configuration profile.
      2. Scroll down to Configuration Settings and select Edit.
      3. When removing a desired extension from either one of the desired browsers, begin by selecting the dropdown beside either the Google or Microsoft Edge blade. Under the Google or Microsoft Edge blade we will need to find the Extensions section followed by locating the configuration setting Extension/App IDs and Update URLs to be Silently Installed (Device). Select the desired browser extension that no longer needs to be preinstalled. Select the Delete button after the entry has been selected (indicated by a blue checkmark). After the Delete action has been carried out, the entry should no longer be present in the list below. Select Next to proceed to the review section.
      4. From the Review section, you will be able to select the Settings dropdown to verify that the removed browser extension is no longer present. Select Save to finalize the browser extension removal. Rule changes propagate in less than 24 hours.
