Conditional Access Policy User Exception Work Instruction

This work instruction will show administrators how to add user exemptions to existing conditional access policies.

This article is intended for employees of organizations that use Sittadel's security. Additionally, there are some actions that can only be accomplished by those with administrative privileges.

Procedure Scope: Administrators

Required Group Membership: Admin.UserSecurity

  1. Navigate to Conditional Access – Azure Active Directory, the policies applied to the tenant will be displayed.
  2. Locate a conditional access policy that needs to be bypassed; click the policy name to edit it. Select the Users item. The applicable users will be shown.
  3. Click the Exclude button, then Select Excluded Users and Groups. Select any users which should be exempted. Click Next.
  4. Move to the bottom of the screen. Under Enable Policy, select On, along with I Understand My Account Will Be Affected By This Policy option. Click Save.
  5. The policy has been saved, and should be applied within 5-10 minutes.
