      Defender Vulnerability Management Exception Creation Work Instruction

      This work instruction will allow an administrator to create an exemption for a vulnerability detected by Microsoft.

      This article is intended for employees of organizations that use Sittadel's security. Additionally, there are some actions that can only be accomplished by those with administrative privileges.

      Procedure Scope: Administrators

      Required Group Membership: Admin.Vulnerability

      1. Navigate to Recommendations – O365 Defender, this page shows all the recommendations for devices, including both configuration and software recommendations. Locate the recommendation you wish to accept the risk for.
      2. Once selected, a pop-up will be displayed allowing for either remediation or exception options, select Exception Options.
      3. When selected the user will need to provide justification, a description of the acceptance, and a duration for which the exception will be in effect. Select Submit to finalize the changes.
      4. A final prompt will display that the exception was successfully created, select Done to finalize all changes.
