Defender Web Filter Category Block

This guide will allow administrators to add specific types of web traffic they want to be blocked from reaching end users.

Defender Web Filter Category Block

  1. Navigate to Web Filter – 365 Defender, select the existing Web Filter policy followed by selecting the Edit button.
  2. A pop up will be displayed, follow the Next prompts until you get the Blocked Categories section. Here you can add the necessary categories requested by administration once the necessary adjustments have been made select Next until you get to the Summary section.
  3. The Summary section will be your final review before you finalize the adjustments, verify that the added categories are showing up under the Block Categories section. If everything looks good, select Submit.
