      Defender Web Filter URL Block

      This guide will show an administrator how to block a URL from being accessed by MDE enrolled devices.

      Defender Web Filter URL Block

      1. Navigate to the URL/Domain – Microsoft Defender portal, this section will allow custom items for URLs to be defined.
      2. Click on the Add Item A dialog screen will appear; enter the domain or URL of the website that should be blacklisted. Click Next.
      3. On the next screen, select Block Execution as the option. Enter a Title which is recommended to have the URL followed by Blacklist, along with a description which may specify a scanning result or reason for the block. Click Next.
      4. A final screen will appear; click Save. The site should be inaccessible within 30 minutes from the blacklisting activity.
