      Defender Web Filter URL Block Work Instruction

      This work instruction will allow an administrator to block a URL from being accessed by devices registered through Intune.

      This article is intended for employees of organizations that use Sittadel's security. Additionally, there are some actions that can only be accomplished by those with administrative privileges.

      Procedure Scope: Administrators

      Required Group Membership: Admin.WebFilter

      1. Navigate to URL/Domain – O365 Defender, this section will allow custom items for URLs to be defined.
      2. Click on the Add Item A dialog screen will appear; enter the domain or URL of the website that should be blacklisted. Click Next.
      3. On the next screen, select Block Execution as the option. Enter a Title which is recommended to have the URL followed by Blacklist, along with a description which may specify a scanning result or reason for the block. Click Next.
      4. A final screen will appear; click Save. The site should be inaccessible within 30 minutes from the blacklisting activity.
