This work instruction will allow an administrator to alleviate a BitLocker drive lockout for a device registered though Intune.
This article is intended for employees of organizations that use Sittadel's security. Additionally, there are some actions that can only be accomplished by those with administrative privileges.
Procedure Scope: Administrators
Required Group Membership: Admin.DeviceMDM
- Navigate to Device – Intune, locate the device you need the BitLocker recovery key from the list.
- Select Recovery Keys. From there, match the BitLocker Key ID that is being displayed on the device to the recovery key you will need, and click Show Recovery Key. Input the recovery key on the target device.
You're Finished!
You should now have the recovery keys for the BitLocker encrypted drive that is experiencing the issue, if the keys aren't being tracked through Azure, a device reimaging will be necessary. For any other problems or questions, reach out to us!
