This guide will show an administrator how to initiate a fresh start on a registered device to remove all pre-installed OEM apps.

Device Fresh Start Initiation
- Navigate to the All Devices – Intune portal, locate and select the desired device from the list.
- From the device Overview page, select the Fresh Start action, a prompt will generate asking if you are sure you want to follow through with cleaning the device, select Yes to complete the fresh start action initiation process. You can choose the Retain user data on this device option if you want to keep the device Microsoft Entra joined or want to re-enroll the device into MDM when the action is completed. If you do not retain user data, the device will be restored to the default OOBE (out-of-box experience) completed state retaining the built-in administrator account.
