Set up SMS-based MFA for your Microsoft work account using the MySignIns portal in a few simple steps.
This guide will accomplish the following:
- Registering a Phone Number from My Sign-Ins

Registering a Phone Number from My Sign-Ins
- Go to the MySignIns – Microsoft page and select Add sign-in method. When prompted, select Phone to set up SMS verification for sign-ins.
- You'll see a prompt asking you to enter the phone number you want to receive SMS codes to. Once input select Next to continue.
- You’ll receive a 6-digit code by text to the phone number you specified in the previous step. Enter it in the textbox displayed on your computer screen, then select Next.
- After entering the code, you’ll see a confirmation prompt indicating that the verification was successful. Select Done to finish setting up your phone number.
- You should now see Phone listed as a sign-in method. This confirms SMS-based MFA is set up for your work account and can be used for future sign-in prompts.
