Exchange Message Trace Report

This guide will show an administrator how to view any email specified for the intended recipient or sender; this can be utilized for troubleshooting email delivery issues or identifying a point of compromise.

Exchange Message Trace

  1. Navigate to Message Trace – Exchange Admin Center, select Start a Trace.
  2. A new window will open. As required, input the Sender and Recipients of the message, specify the Time Range which they may have been received, specify whether the message was received or not using Delivery Status and the Direction if applicable. Select Search to finalize the set parameters.
  3. The items displayed will show the required information to locate the message, along with its status.
