O365 Email Policy Anti-Malware Exclusion Work Instruction

This work instruction will allow an administrator to exempt a specified internal user from having Anti-Malware policy applied to their incoming mail.

This article is intended for employees of organizations that use Sittadel's security. Additionally, there are some actions that can only be accomplished by those with administrative privileges.

Procedure Scope: Administrators

Required Group Membership: Admin.EmailSecurity

  1. Navigate to Anti-Malware – O365 Defender, locate the applicable Security Essentials Policy; this is the policy that holds all of the configuration settings, and select Edit Users and Domains.
  2. Check the Exclude These Users, Groups, and Domains Input the desired type of exclusion you wish to make, which will exempt those items from having the policy applied to them, followed by clicking Save.
